SPAM (Junk E-Mail)

Spam is a popular term for unsolicited commercial electronic mail. Not all spam is illegal. Florida’s law prohibits fraudulent, false or deceptive spam. Unlawful spam is a daunting problem, but through coordinated efforts of federal and state law enforcement, Internet Service Providers, and concerned citizens, we are working to address the spam invasion. Despite a coordinated approach, it will take a determined effort to truly combat spam. In the meantime, tips available for consumers may serve to heighten awareness and eliminate some negative consequences associated with spam.
