TALLAHASSEE, Fla.—Attorney General Ashley Moody’s Office of Statewide Prosecution is charging two members of a criminal ring with counts of organized retail theft and grand theft. Erica Armbrister and Andre Williams stole more than $10,000 worth of Prevagen and other items from Walgreens pharmacies across the state. From September 2022 to January 2023, the duo stole items from stores in eight Florida cities.

Attorney General Ashley Moody said, “This criminal duo thought they could get away with stealing more than $10,000 worth of items from eight different Walgreens stores throughout the state, but they were wrong. Florida is a law-and-order state, and these defendants now face serious felony charges.”

The investigation began when the crime duo stole more than $1,200 worth of Prevagen from a Walgreens in Martin County. The defendants entered stores together, one serving as lookout while the other swiped products into coats or bags. The team utilized a key to unlock anti-theft containers and cases to access the merchandise. The defendants then sold products to pawn shops for cash.

In a four-month period, the duo stole Prevagen and other items, including skincare products from Walgreens pharmacies in the following cities: Cooper City, Hollywood, Jensen Beach, Melbourne, North Fort Myers, St. Petersburg, Stuart and Valrico.

Armbrister is charged with two counts of organized retail theft and six counts of grand theft. Williams is charged with one count of organized retail theft and two counts of grand theft.

The Office of Statewide Prosecution will handle the case.
