Attorney General James Uthmeier Charges Bradford County Child Predator for Possession of Child Sexual Abuse Material
TALLAHASSEE, Fla.—Attorney General James Uthmeier announced charges against Gary Adams, 59, of Starke. Adams faces five counts of Possession of Child Sexual Abuse Materials (CSAM) and one count of Unlawful Use of a Two-Way Communication Device.
“Sharing images and videos of child sexual abuse is a predator’s way of controlling the victims, and we cannot allow that cycle to continue,” said Attorney General James Uthmeier. “Anyone possessing or distributing these materials is contributing to the abuse. We will continue hunting down every child predator in Florida and ensure they remain behind bars.”
The investigation into Adams was launched on April 24, 2026, when the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) received a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) that Adams was sharing and uploading CSAM to his Facebook account. Investigators connected an additional 31 cyber tips relating to the defendant’s Facebook account.
FDLE and the Bradford County Sheriff’s Office arrested Adams at his residence on April 29, 2026. This investigation is ongoing, and more charges may be filed.
Adams is at the Bradford County Jail on $850,000 bond.
If convicted as charged, Adams faces up to 30 years in the Florida Department of Corrections.
This case will be prosecuted by Chief Assistant Statewide Prosecutor Kelsey Bledsoe in the Eighth Judicial Circuit of Florida.
