AG Moody Heads to Sebring with Victim Advocates

TALLAHASSEE, Fla.—Attorney General Ashley Moody and a team of victim advocates are headed to Highlands County to support law enforcement and assist the family members of victims of today’s bank shooting. Immediately following the shooting, Attorney General Moody spoke to Highlands County Sheriff Paul Blackman to offer support to law enforcement and the families of shooting victims.
Attorney General Moody said, “Our focus is on helping the family members of the victims of this horrific attack receive the support they need in this extremely difficult time. I spoke to Sheriff Paul Blackman and FDLE Commissioner Rick Swearingen offering any and all resources our office can provide to help in the aftermath of this tragedy. Justin and I are praying for the victims of this attack and for the brave law enforcement officers who responded to the scene.”
The Attorney General’s Office already has victim advocates on the scene and several additional advocates are headed to Sebring. The Florida Attorney General’s Division of Victim Services provides assistance and benefits to crime victims in Florida. Services provided through the Division include assistance with paying medical bills, funeral expenses, lost wages, grief counseling and more.
