AG Moody’s Office of Statewide Prosecution Announces Arrest of Supplier in Boynton Beach Drug-Trafficking Ring
TALLAHASSEE, Fla.—Attorney General Ashley Moody’s Office of Statewide Prosecution is announcing the arrest of a supplier in a large drug-trafficking ring that operated out of the Boynton Beach area. Attorney General Moody’s Statewide Prosecutors are charging William Moyo with felony counts of trafficking cocaine and conspiracy to traffic cocaine. According to the investigation, Moyo supplied cocaine and fentanyl for the Big Boi drug-trafficking ring—in which authorities already arrested 17 defendants.
Attorney General Ashley Moody said, “Law enforcement continues to take poison peddlers and their deadly products off our streets, and this latest arrest should serve as a warning to anyone looking to traffic drugs in our state. Florida law enforcement will track you down, and my Statewide Prosecutors will ensure you end up in prison.”
According to the investigation, Moyo supplied multiple kilograms of cocaine and fentanyl to the drug trafficking ring ran by Johnson Joseph. Authorities found more than 20 kilograms of cocaine at Moyo’s residence during the execution of a search warrant.
The Big Boi drug-trafficking ring distributed fentanyl and cocaine through the Palm Beach County area. Over the course of the investigation into the ring, authorities seized a combined 50 pounds of cocaine and other illicit substances. To date, authorities have arrested 17 defendants, and the cases are still ongoing. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement provided funding for the law enforcement action through the State Assistance Enforcement for Fentanyl Eradication grant.
Moyo faces one count of trafficking in cocaine 400 grams or more, but less than 150 kilograms, and one count of conspiracy to traffic in cocaine 400 grams or more, but less than 150 kilograms.
Attorney General Moody’s OSP is prosecuting Moyo’s case, and the cases of those previously arrested in connection with the drug-trafficking ring.
