Governor Bush and the Florida Legislature have approved Florida’s first-ever Gas Tax Cut during August 2004.
The Florida Motor Fuel Tax Relief Act of 2004 will begin at 12:01 a.m. on August 1, 2004 and end at midnight on August 31, 2004.
Florida’s tax on gasoline is only one of many factors that affect the price you pay at the pump. Factors beyond the State’s control may continue to cause gasoline prices to go up or down.
Tax on gasoline is not collected by the retail dealer. The tax has been pre-collected by the suppliers. By law, all segments of the petroleum industry must pass along the tax cut, so that the driver receives the full benefit of the cut.
Note: The Gasoline Tax Cut does not include diesel fuel.
