Workplace Violence
February 21, 2005
Ocala
Tuition: $125
Course No. 180-05-01

Description: The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health reports that murder is the leading cause of death for women at work, and the third leading cause of death for men. In 1995, 1,024 Americans were victims of homicide by co-workers, personal acquaintances or by persons in the commission of other crimes. Each year, nearly two million individuals become victims of violent crime while working or on duty.

This eight-hour course on workplace violence was developed in response to the many requests from law enforcement officers and crime prevention practitioners in the State of Florida. The one-day workshop is designed to cover presentation skills, OSHA guidelines, perpetrator profiles, employee disenchantment, levels of violence, behavioral warning signs, and prevention methods.

This course is designed for anyone who trains or is responsible for security, whether in the government, public, or private sector. The goal of the workshop is to acquaint the attendee with the proper information to teach this highly relevant subject.

Location & Lodging: This course will be held at the Hilton-Ocala 3600 Southwest 36th Avenue (Exit 350 off I-75), Ocala, Florida 34474. For reservations call (352) 854-1400 or (877) 602-4023. The room rate is $89.00 and reservations must be made by January 29, 2005.

How to Register: See registration information. For additional information, contact FCPTI at (850) 414-3360.
