Crist: Two Men Arrested for Promoting Child Sex Videos

TALLAHASSEE - Attorney General Charlie Crist today announced the arrests in separate cases of a Pinellas County man and an Orange County teenager on charges of possession of child pornography and promoting the sexual performance of a child. Investigators conducting undercover online investigations discovered that Enrique Liboy-Bayonet of Clearwater and Jerry Patrick Killen of Apopoka were promoting and distributing pornographic videos of children through separate activities.

Liboy-Bayonet, 75, and Killen, 19, placed pornographic videos on the internet, where they were discovered by an investigator with the Attorney General's CyberCrime Unit who was able to trace them back to each man. Search warrants were then executed at each man's residence, and computers and numerous images of child pornography were seized.

"These two cases show how the depravity of child pornography knows no age limits," said Crist. "The internet has become a powerful tool for those who would engage in this vile activity, but our CyberCrime Unit is proving to be a powerful a weapon against those who would exploit children in this horrible way."

The Attorney General's CyberCrime Unit investigated the cases in conjunction with state and local law enforcement agencies. The arrest of Liboy-Bayonet was done in conjunction with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office, while the case against Killen was made with the assistance of the Orange County Sheriff's Office.

Liboy-Bayonet and Killen each admitted to knowingly possessing the pornography found on their computers. The computers and other equipment removed from the residences will undergo further forensic analysis to locate possible additional pornographic images or movies of children.

Liboy-Bayonet, who is being held at the Pinellas County Jail, is charged with 10 counts of possession of child pornography, a third-degree felony. If convicted on all charges, he faces up to 50 years in prison. Killen has been released from the Orange County Jail on bond and is charged with one count of promoting the sexual performance of a child, a second-degree felony, and one count of possession of child pornography, a third-degree felony. If convicted on all charges, he faces up to 25 years in prison.

The CyberCrime Unit's mission is to protect children from computer-facilitated sexual exploitation. The unit does this by working cooperatively on a statewide basis with law enforcement agencies and prosecutors to provide resources and expertise, while preventing the spread of these crimes through education and community awareness. Today's arrests bring the total number of CyberCrime arrests to nine since the creation of the unit last October.
