Orange County Man Arrested for Possession of Child Pornography
TALLAHASSEE, FL – Attorney General Bill McCollum today announced the arrest of an Orange County man on charges of possession of child pornography. Christopher Q. Ellis was taken into custody by law enforcement with the Attorney General’s CyberCrime Unit with assistance from the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.
Investigators with the CyberCrime Unit discovered Ellis’ possession of child pornography during a routine undercover investigation online and traced the images back to Ellis’ computer. A search warrant was executed at his Orlando residence and two computers were seized, which will undergo additional forensic analysis to locate any additional images of child pornography. Ellis, 21, admitted to possessing the images located during the investigation.
Ellis will be charged with 10 counts of possession of child pornography, a third-degree felony which will be enhanced to a second-degree felony under the CyberCrimes Against Children Act of 2007. Ellis was booked into the Orange County Jail and will be prosecuted by attorneys with the CyberCrime Unit. The CyberCrime Unit and the Orange County Sheriff’s Office are both members of the Central Florida Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force.
