Attorney General Pam Bondi News Release
Attorney General Bondi, along with the Statewide Council on Human Trafficking, the Florida Juvenile Justice Foundation, the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice, the Florida Department of Children and Families and the University of Central Florida, are hosting the one-day summit. The summit will bring together local, state and national leaders working to eradicate all forms of human trafficking.
“Combating human trafficking is one of my top priorities, and I am excited to co-host our Fifth Annual Human Trafficking Summit. This event allows us to reinforce the all hands-on-deck effort needed to end this horrific crime in our state,” said Attorney General Bondi.
Attorney General Bondi is pleased to announce the summit’s Keynote Speaker—Academy AwardŽ-nominated actress and human rights activist, Anne Archer. Ms. Archer stars in the 2016 film, “Trafficked,” also starring Ashley Judd and Patrick Duffy. The movie was inspired by the real life experiences of three girls enslaved in a Texas brothel and is based on the award-winning book, Sex Trafficking: Inside the Business of Modern Slavery by Siddharth Kara.
The summit will be held on Monday, Oct. 10, 2016 at the Rosen Centre Hotel in Orlando. Throughout the day, profession-specific breakout sessions and training opportunities will be available to educators, law enforcement, the legal community, healthcare professionals, service providers and the other attendees.
