Brothers Sentenced in Connection to Heroin Trafficking in Florida
TALLAHASSEE, Fla.—Attorney General Pam Bondi’s Office of Statewide Prosecution today announced the conviction and sentencing of two brothers in connection to drug trafficking. A Hillsborough County jury found Pablo Romero-Concepcion and Eugenio Romero-Concepcion guilty of conspiracy to traffic heroin, 28 grams or more. The Honorable J. Rogers Padgett, Senior Circuit Judge for the 13th Judicial Circuit, sentenced both brothers to 25 years in prison and imposed $500,000 fines.

Following a year-long investigation into heroin trafficking in Hillsborough County, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office arrested the Romero-Concepcion brothers and 11 other defendants. During the 2015 investigation, authorities seized four ounces of heroin that the Romero-Concepcion brothers distributed and interdicted a multi-kilo package of heroin pre-packaged for individual sales.

The brothers are the first defendants from this investigation to take their cases to trial. Several other defendants pleaded guilty and are awaiting sentencing. Attorney General Bondi’s Office of Statewide Prosecution prosecuted the case.
