Attorney General Pam Bondi Introduces Resolution Recognizing The Consul General of the State of Israel to Florida and Staff

TALLAHASSEE, Fla.– Attorney General Pam Bondi introduced a resolution today at the Florida Governor and Cabinet meeting recognizing Consul General of the State of Israel to Florida Chaim Shacham and his staff.

The primary mission of the Israeli Consulate General is to promote mutually beneficial cooperation between Israel and Florida. During Mr. Shacham’s tenure as Consul General, Israel and Florida have enjoyed a productive relationship which includes new partnerships and collaboration between the two States.

In 2013, the State of Florida and the Government of Israel signed a Memorandum of Understanding partnering Space Florida with the Israeli Office of the Chief Scientist to promote the joint research and development of key space-related commercial areas, thus strengthening the vital space sector in both States.

Enterprise Florida has opened an office in Tel Aviv, facilitating economic and business cooperation between the two States, making Florida one of the few states with such an office in Israel.

“During the tenure of Consul General Chaim Shacham and his capable staff, the Consulate of Israel has cultivated close working relationship with all members of this Cabinet, with members of the Florida Legislature, and with many of our state agencies,” said Attorney General Pam Bondi.

Earlier this month, Israel celebrated 66 years as an independent nation. The United States is Israel’s top ally and, among the states, Florida is one of the nation’s strongest supporters.
