TALLAHASSEE, Fla. –Attorney General Pam Bondi released the following statement on the passage of the Organized Retail Theft Bill, House Bill 1173, in the House Justice Appropriations Subcommittee. Its companion bill, Senate Bill Senate Bill 1404, is sponsored by Senator Kelli Stargel.

“Organized retail theft is a sophisticated operation that involves the large-scale theft of everyday consumer items, and we must give law enforcement and prosecutors the proper tools to crack down on these crimes,” stated Attorney General Pam Bondi. “I thank Representative Spano and the House Justice Appropriations Subcommittee for supporting this legislation that will benefit businesses and consumers.”
