TALLAHASSEE, FL – Attorney General Bill McCollum today announced a Santa Rosa County man has been taken into custody and will be charged with possession of child pornography. Corey Loper, 30, was arrested today by law enforcement with the Attorney General’s CyberCrime Unit after investigators discovered Loper had multiple images of child pornography in his possession. The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), the Pensacola Police Department and the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office assisted with the arrest.

CyberCrime investigators located images of child pornography during a routine investigation and traced the images back to Loper’s computer. A search warrant was executed at his Santa Rosa home where one computer, several DVD's and other digital evidence were seized. The items removed from the home will undergo forensic analysis to identify any additional images of child pornography. This is the second arrest today for the CyberCrime Unit; the first arrest took place in Pinellas County.

Loper will be booked into the Santa Rosa County Jail and will be charged with 10 counts of possession of child pornography, a third-degree felony which will be enhanced to a second-degree felony under the CyberCrimes Against Children Act. The agencies involved are all members of the North Florida Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force.
