TALLAHASSEE, Fla.— Attorney General Pam Bondi today issued a statement regarding the U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling in favor of Hobby Lobby and other businesses. Hobby Lobby and others challenged the federal Affordable Care Act regulations requiring corporations to provide employees with contraception coverage despite companies’ religious objections. Florida joined an amicus brief in support of the companies’ free exercise of religion.
“I am pleased with today’s Supreme Court ruling in favor of Hobby Lobby and other businesses,” said Attorney General Pam Bondi. “Family-owned corporations such as Hobby Lobby have the right to run their businesses on religious principles, and the Affordable Care Act regulations violated their rights.”
