TALLAHASSEE, Fla.—Following a prosecution by Attorney General Pam Bondi’s Office of Statewide Prosecution, Peter Kitt (2-12-72) was convicted by a jury today in the 6th Judicial Circuit Court in Pinellas County for racketeering and conspiracy to commit racketeering, which was predicated on egregious criminal acts in a sex trafficking ring. Kitt will be sentenced on Dec.12, and he faces 60 years in prison.
“I am dedicated to making Florida a zero-tolerance state for human trafficking, and I commend my Office of Statewide Prosecution for successfully prosecuting this man for his role in a sex trafficking ring,” stated Attorney General Pam Bondi.
The Clearwater Police Department and other partnering agencies arrested Kitt for his participation in a sex trafficking ring of approximately 16 women in the Clearwater area.
The agencies that partnered in the investigation and arrest of Kitt and others are: Clearwater Police Department, Attorney General’s Office of Statewide Prosecution, Department of Homeland Security, Florida Department of Law Enforcement, State Attorney Bernie McCabe, Tampa Police Department, Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, Largo Police Department, Pinellas Park Police Department, and St. Petersburg Police Department.
