TALLAHASSEE, FL – Attorney General Bill McCollum today issued the following statement on the ruling from the First District Court of Appeal on the NCAA public records case:

“I congratulate the media organizations and interest groups for prevailing in this case of critical importance to the continued viability of Florida's public records laws. The First District's decision emphasizes the importance of applying the public records laws to new and evolving technologies and serves to enhance our state’s reputation as a leader on Sunshine issues.”
