TALLAHASSEE, FL – Attorney General Bill McCollum issued the following statement today on federal funding for Florida's rail infrastructure:

"A significant federal investment in Florida's infrastructure will create jobs, reduce congestion on our busy roadways and diversify transportation options for Floridians. I applaud Florida's Congressional delegation for their efforts to accelerate the expansion of commuter rail in Florida.

"After receiving updated information from Congressman Mica's office, I remain excited and optimistic about Florida's transportation future and the possibility of federal funding for Florida's infrastructure."
