TALLAHASSEE, Fla.—Attorney General Pam Bondi today joined Governor Rick Scott, and legislators for the ceremonial signing of House Bill 227, which creates a Statewide Task Force on Prescription Drug Abuse and Newborns. Attorney General Bondi worked closely with Senator Joe Negron and Representative Kelli Stargel on the legislation.

“The creation of this task force makes Florida the prototype for the nation on how to address the emerging crisis of newborns being addicted to prescription drugs. We must do everything within our power to protect the smallest victims of prescription drug abuse,” stated Attorney General Pam Bondi.
