Tallahassee, Fla.–Today, Attorney General Pam Bondi announced that her office will participate in the National Prescription Drug Take Back Day on Saturday, April 30. Organized by the Drug Enforcement Administration in conjunction with state and local law enforcement, National Prescription Take Back Day is an opportunity to dispose of unused and unwanted prescription drugs. Each site will be operated by a local law enforcement agency with the authority to receive unused or expired medication. The agency will then properly dispose of the medication, which protects Florida’s water supply, environment and animals.
“Often the family medicine cabinet is where the prescription drug abuse problem begins. By participating in this national event, parents and families can help protect their loved ones by providing a safer home environment,” stated Attorney General Pam Bondi.
