Florida Couple Convicted in Multimillion Dollar Baby Formula Theft Scheme
TALLAHASSEE, Fla.—Attorney General Pam Bondi today announced the conviction of a Florida couple in connection to an organized retail theft scheme to steal two million dollars’ worth of baby formula. Alicia Tondreau-Leve was convicted of racketeering, conspiracy to commit racketeering, dealing in stolen property as an organizer, and money laundering while her husband, Alan Leve was convicted of conspiracy to commit racketeering for their role in a multistate, multimillion dollar scheme that involved selling stolen formula through an online business named Formula Mom.
“This retail theft ring spanned several Florida counties, multiple states and took great coordination and diligent investigative work to dismantle,” said Attorney General Bondi. “Thanks to those efforts and strong partnerships between my Office of Statewide Prosecution and local and state law enforcement, the scheme was stopped and those responsible are being held accountable.”
Attorney General Bondi’s Office of Statewide Prosecution worked with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office, the Cape Coral Police Department, the Casselberry Police Department, and the Ocoee Police Department assisted with this case.
A sentencing hearing for Alicia and Alan Leve is scheduled for Sept. 23. Defendants Alexis Dattadeen and Guilyanna Guzman are also awaiting sentencing in connection to this scheme.
