TALLAHASSEE, FL – Attorney General Bill McCollum today announced that a Jacksonville man is in custody on charges that he transmitted materials of a sexual nature to someone he thought was a 13-year old girl. Marion Edgar Texton had numerous sexually explicit conversations with an undercover CyberCrime investigator. He was arrested today by law enforcement officers with the Attorney General’s CyberCrime Unit with assistance from the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Texton, 66, approached the undercover investigator in an online chatroom and began chatting, believing he was talking to a young child. Over the course of at least five months, Texton continued to communicate with the child and transmitted video of himself performing graphic sexual acts. A search warrant was executed today at Texton’s Jacksonville home and two computers were seized. The computers will undergo forensic analysis to identify any further evidence of the crimes charged or other potential victims.

Texton will be booked into the Duval County Jail. He will be charged with four counts of lewd and lascivious exhibition on a computer, a second-degree felony, and four counts of transmission of harmful materials to a minor, a third-degree felony. The agencies involved in the investigation and arrest are all members of the North Florida Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force.
