TALLAHASSEE, Fla.—Attorney General Pam Bondi issued the following statement regarding Commissioner of Agriculture Adam H. Putnam’s legislative proposal, Senate Bill 638, to enhance Florida’s charity law. Attorney General Bondi supports this legislative proposal and will continue to protect Floridians from charity-related scams.
"So many Floridians selflessly give their hard-earned money to charitable organizations, and we must protect them from those who seek to misuse funds and exploit generous individuals. This proposal will provide additional safeguards to better protect legitimate charities and the Floridians who give to them."
