TALLAHASSEE—Attorney General Pam Bondi applauds the House of Representatives Judiciary Committee for today’s unanimous passage of House Bill 449, sponsored by Representative Dwayne Taylor, which will separate the restoration of civil rights from the requirement to obtain an occupational license.
“This bill will help ex-felons reintegrate into society and will better protect Floridians by ensuring that occupational licenses are issued by the appropriate licensing authority based on a thorough and individualized vetting process,” stated Attorney General Bondi. “The restoration of civil rights should have no bearing on whether an individual qualifies for a particular occupational license.”
