TALLAHASSEE, FL – Attorney General Bill McCollum today announced a Santa Rosa County man is in custody and will be charged with possession of child pornography. William August Jones, 65, was arrested by law enforcement with the Attorney General’s CyberCrime Unit after investigators discovered Jones had multiple images of child pornography in his possession. The Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Pensacola Junior College Police Department assisted with the arrest.
CyberCrime investigators located images of child pornography during a routine investigation and traced the images back to Jones’ computer. A search warrant was executed at his Pace home where five computers and over 400 CD’s were seized and will undergo forensic analysis. An initial review of his computers revealed multiple images of child pornography and Jones admitted he possessed the images during the investigation.
Jones will be booked into the Santa Rosa County Jail and will be charged with two counts of possession of child pornography, a third-degree felony.
