TALLAHASSEE, FL – Attorney General Bill McCollum today announced an Orange County man was sentenced to nine years in prison for his role in a heroin trafficking operation. Norberto Andino, 53, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to traffic 28 grams or more of heroine and trafficking four grams or more of heroin. In addition to his prison sentence, Andino will serve two years of house arrest followed by nine years of supervised probation.
Andino was originally arrested in January 2008 after a lengthy investigation by the United States Drug Enforcement Administration. The investigation revealed Andino and a group of associates were trafficking heroin from South Florida into Central Florida and distributing the narcotics to heroin dealers throughout Central Florida.
Andino was sentenced by the Honorable Tim Shea, Circuit Judge for the Ninth Judicial Circuit of Florida. Nine of Andino’s co-defendants have previously been sentenced to probationary or prison sentences, and four are expected to be sentenced later this summer.
