My Medicaid Fraud Control Unit investigates and prosecutes providers that defraud Florida’s Medicaid program. This week, my office worked with the Hendry County Sheriff’s Office to arrest Kim Dodson for allegedly submitting false claims to the Medicaid program and receiving payment for services that she never rendered. Dodson, a Cape Coral resident, was an infant and toddler development specialist and provided services through the Medicaid Early Intervention Services program.
Dodson was arrested and charged with one count of scheme to defraud and one count of grand theft. If convicted, she could face up to five years in prison and a $5,000 fine. My office will continue to pursue Medicaid fraud, which essentially steals money from Florida’s taxpayers.
