Attorney General Bondi's Weekly Briefing

Hurricane Irma will strike Florida this weekend. People in mandatory evacuation areas need to leave now. Those not ordered to leave should be prepared with an evacuation plan and enough food, water, fuel, batteries and other necessary supplies to stay safe.

We will not tolerate anyone taking advantage of Floridians trying to evacuate or buy supplies to protect their families. That is why I activated my Price Gouging Hotline and have operators assisting Floridians this weekend. The hotline is receiving thousands of calls, and I am personally reviewing complaints and calling businesses to help protect Floridians during this crisis.

I will be working with our operators and investigators this weekend and throughout this storm to protect Floridians. Safety is our number one concern. If anyone suspects price gouging on essential storm-related supplies they should call my hotline at (866) 9NO-SCAM. If calling from an out-of-state number, dial (850) 414-3990 or file a complaint online at

Please do everything in your power to stay safe and protect your family. Irma is a deadly storm—property can be replaced, you only have one life.
