Attorney General Bondi's Weekly Briefing

This week, I announced the arrests of two individuals in connection to a multimillion dollar drug diversion scheme. Drug diversion schemes like this one jeopardize the reliable distribution of prescription drugs in our state and throughout our country.

Thanks to the tireless efforts of my Office of Statewide Prosecution and the great investigative work of my Medicaid Fraud Control Unit and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, those responsible for this contraband prescription drug trafficking scheme will be held accountable. My Office of Statewide Prosecution will be prosecuting both individuals on charges related to this illegal operation fueled by Medicaid fraud.

Since I took office, my task force targeting Medicaid-related drug diversion has seized more than $9 million in cash and property and removed more than $7 million of contraband pharmaceuticals from the streets. We will continue to work with our dedicated state and local law enforcement partners to shut down these illegal operations exploiting our Medicaid program.

Attorney General Pam Bondi released the following statement for the 75th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor:

“Today we remember all the Americans who lost their lives 75 years ago at Pearl Harbor. I will never forget visiting the USS Arizona Memorial with my mother to honor all the civilians and military members who were attacked on this December morning that ultimately led to the American entry of World War II. My Uncle Raymond bravely fought on the beaches of Normandy during WWII, and then days later suffered an injury that claimed his life. I am beyond grateful for my Uncle Raymond’s sacrifice and all courageous military members who risk their lives to protect our great nation.”
