I’m Florida Attorney General Bill McCollum.
This week, two significant CyberCrime cases have been resolved, one which resulted in a 27-year prison sentence and one which will require the defendant to serve a minimum of 15 years.
Both cases were prosecuted by federal authorities, but were investigated from the beginning by my CyberCrime Unit. With the one sentence imposed and the other pending, we are sending a clear message that here in Florida, internet child predators will pay the price for sexually soliciting our children and for engaging in the production of child pornography.
Every day, the members of the CyberCrime Unit work to protect our children all over the state and our children are safer because of their efforts.
I’m Bill McCollum and this has been a CyberCrime update.
