I’m Florida Attorney General Bill McCollum.
Today, my office filed a lawsuit against a Broward cruise line company, stating the company charged approximately $4 million in fuel surcharges without properly notifying vacationers.
Imperial Majesty sells cruises to the Bahamas, but consumers have complained the company levies fuel surcharges on its customers without notice when the customers are booking their cruises and implicates the fees are government-related.
Florida residents and our guests deserve proper description and disclosure of fees when they book cruises or make other travel purchases in our state.
