SunRail Commuter Train Project

The SunRail commuter train project has the ability to have a tremendous positive impact to the economy in Central Florida. The project would create hundreds of jobs and move people quickly, easily and efficiently through one of the most populous regions in the state.

On Tuesday, the Florida Department of Transportation Secretary Stephanie Kopolousos briefed the Cabinet on the current status of SunRail. Following her briefing, I am even more convinced this project is good for Florida and I strongly support legislation to implement a SunRail agreement.

Projects like this one should not fall victim to political games in the Legislature. The economic impact for Florida is too great to pass up. I look forward to monitoring this issue closely in the coming months.
