Safely Celebrating the Holidays

The holiday season is full of celebrations. Unfortunately, those celebrations sometimes lead to tragedy. According to the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles, on New Year’s Day in 2008, 42 people were killed in crashes. Sixty-two percent of these fatalities involved alcohol.

With an increased number of drivers on the road during the holidays, we should all be especially cautious behind the wheel. The holidays are a time of celebration, reflection and spending time with loved ones. Remember as you revel in the holiday spirit, be responsible. Please don’t drive if you have been drinking and take the keys from friends who are under the influence. Ingrid and I wish you and your family a happy and safe holiday season.
